iCloud Syncing

Keep all your devices in sync using Apple's iCloud Drive.

Overview

When you first sign in or create an account in mSecure, you will be prompted to choose a sync option. If you prefer, you can select iCloud syncing at this stage. You can also change your sync option anytime in Sync Settings within mSecure.

Compatibility & Limitations

  • iCloud syncing is only available on the Mac App Store and iOS versions of mSecure due to Apple's security policies.
  • iCloud sync will not work between different iCloud accounts because Apple does not allow file sharing between iCloud accounts.
  • iCloud Drive sharing (200GB+plans) does not enable mSecure syncing across multiple iCloud accounts. If you need cross-account syncing, consider using mSecure Cloud or Dropbox syncing instead.

Requirements for iCloud Syncing

To use iCloud syncing, ensure the following settings are correctly configured:

1. iCloud Account - All devices must be signed in to the same iCloud account.

2. iCloud Drive Settings - iCloud Drive must be enabled, and mSecure must have permission to use iCloud Drive.

  • On iOS: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive, and ensure mSecure is toggled on.
  • On Mac: Go to System Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive, and ensure mSecure is enabled under "Apps Using iCloud."

Using an Older Version of mSecure?

Important: mSecure does not sync with previous versions. However, you can restore data from a .msim backup file created in older versions.
