Understanding Templates
Templates in mSecure help you keep your information organized by categorizing different record types. Each record is based on a specific template, making it easy to access and manage your data.
Preset Templates in mSecure
mSecure provides a variety of built-in templates for commonly stored information, including:
- Login
- Credit Card
- Secure Note
- Bank Account
- Driver's License
- Passport
- Social Security
- Software License
- Vehicle Info
- and more!
How to Add a New Record in mSecure
You can add a new record using the following steps:
On iOS & Android
- Open mSecure.
- Tap the blue plus (+) button in the bottom right corner.
- Choose a template from the pop-up menu.
- Enter your record information.
- Tap the checkmark icon to save.
On Mac
- Open mSecure.
- Click the blue plus (+) button at the bottom.
- Choose a template from the flyout list.
- Enter your record information.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
On PC
- Open mSecure.
- Click the "+ Add Item" row at the top of the left column.
- Choose a template from the pop-up menu.
- Enter your record information.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
Creating a Custom Template in mSecure
If the standard templates don't fit your needs, you can create a custom template. This feature is available with an mSecure subscription.
On iOS
- Open mSecure.
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal menu) in the top left.
- Tap Settings > Edit Templates.
- Tap the plus icon (+) in the upper right.
- Name your template.
- Add the necessary fields.
- Tap Save.
On Android
- Open mSecure.
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left.
- Tap Settings > Edit Templates.
- Tap the plus icon (+) in the bottom right.
- Name your template.
- Add necessary fields.
- Tap the checkmark icon to save.
On Mac
- Open mSecure.
- Click mSecure in the top menu > Preferences.
- Navigate to Templates.
- Click Add.
- Name your template.
- Add necessary fields.
- Click OK to save.
On PC
- Open mSecure.
- Click the Settings (gear) icon.
- Click Templates in the left menu.
- Click the (+) button.
- Name your template.
- Add necessary fields.
- Click the green checkmark icon to save.
Using Custom Templates
To use your custom template:
- Go to All records (tap/click "All Records" at the top).
- Tap/click the plus icon (+) to add a new record.
- Select your custom template.
Editing Existing Templates
You can edit any of your templates at any time:
- Navigate to Templates in your mSecure settings.
- Select the template you want to modify.
- Tap/click Edit.
- Make your changes.
- Tap/click Save.
This allows you to update and refine templates as needed.
