Using Custom Fields

Are you looking to make a custom change to one of your records? The addition of custom fields makes it easier than ever to update your records with the exact information you need! Use custom fields to fully describe your record or add necessary data, all in the secure digital space of your own mSecure database.


Add a custom field on mobile devices


iOS:

  1. Open and unlock mSecure
  2. Create or edit a record
  3. Tap the "Add Field" option
  4. Select the field type you would like to use
  5. Add a label to the record
  6. Add field information to the field
  7. Save your record changes


Android:

  1. Open and unlock mSecure
  2. Create or edit a record
  3. Tap the "+" (FAB) icon on the bottom right corner
  4. Tap "Add Field"
  5. Add a field label and select the type of field type you would like to use
  6. Tap the checkmark on the top right corner
  7. Add field information
  8. Save your record changes



You can edit the field label and field information at any time. You can only rearrange the fields in the order you would like if you are an mSecure Premium user only.


Add a custom field on your desktop

  1. Open and unlock mSecure
  2. Create or edit a record
  3. Click the "Add Field" option
  4. Select the field type you would like to use
  5. Add a label to the record
  6. Add field information to the field
  7. Save your record changes




Fields Available

  1. Text Field
    • Basic field provides auto-correct options and(or) capitalizes each word.
    • Allows all characters.
  2. Text Field (no auto-correct)
    • Basic field
    • Allows all characters.
  3. **URL Field
    • Use for website URLs
  4. Alpha-Numeric Field
    • Allows only alphabet characters and numbers
  5. Phone Number Field
    • Use for specifically for phone numbers
  6. Email Field
    • Use for an email address. Note that we recommend using the "Username" field most of the time. The email field allows you to automatically open your email client to send an email to the email address in this field though.
  7. Number Field
    • Allows only numbers
  8. **Username field
    • Use for any usernames or email addresses for online accounts
  9. **Password Field
    • Allows all characters
    • Field is masked by default
  10. Sensitive Number field
    • Allows numbers
    • Field is masked by default
  11. Date Field
    • Provides date picker
    • Displays dates in mm/dd/yy for US and dd/mm/yy for the rest of the world
      • Android version will only display in US format
  12. Month/Year Field
    • Use for expiration dates
    • Displays data in mm/yyyy format
  13. Credit Card Field
    • Use for credit card numbers
    • Field is masked by default
  14. One-Time Password
    • Add a one-time password for sites that require this
    • Scan an image of it (if applicable)
