Using Custom Fields

Looking to tailor your records to fit your needs? With custom fields, you can securely add specific details and organize your information in mSecure. Whether you need additional data or want to enhance record organization, mSecure makes customization simple.

*Rearranging fields is available only for mSecure Premium users.


Adding a Custom Field on Mobile Devices


On iOS:

  1. Open and unlock mSecure.
  2. Select a record.
  3. Tap Edit (pencil icon in the top-right corner).
  4. Tap Add Field.
  5. Select the field type you would like to use.
  6. Add a label for the field. 
  7. Enter the field information.
  8. Tap the Save button (check mark in the top-right corner). 
  9. To delete or rearrange a field, tap Field Settings while in edit mode.

Note: You can also add fields while creating a new record.





On Android:

  1. Open and unlock mSecure.
  2. Select a record.
  3. Tap Edit (pencil icon in the top-right corner). 
  4. Tap the Add button (+ icon in the bottom-right corner). 
  5. Select Add Field.
  6. Enter the field information.
  7. Tap the Check Mark icon (top-right corner) to save your new field. 
  8. To delete or rearrange a field, tap Field Settings while in edit mode.

Note: You can also add fields while creating a new record. 






Add a Custom Field on Desktop

  1. Open and unlock mSecure.
  2. Select a record.
  3. Tap Edit (pencil icon in the bottom-right corner). 
  4. Tap Add Field.
  5. Select the field type you want to use.
  6. Add a label for the field.
  7. Enter the field information. 
  8. Tap the Save button (check mark icon in the bottom-right corner). 
  9. To delete a field, tap the red minus icon to the right of the field. 
  10. To rearrange fields, drag the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) up or down.
  11. Tap the green check mark in the bottom-right corner to save your changes. 

Note: You can also add fields while creating a new record. 






Fields Available

  1. Text Field
    • Basic field provides auto-correct options.
    • Auto-capitalizes each word.
    • Allows all characters.
  2. Text Field (no auto-correct)
    • Basic field without auto-correct.
    • Allows all characters.
  3. URL Field
    • Designed for website URLs.
  4. Alpha-Numeric Field
    • Allows only alphabet characters and numbers.
  5. Phone Number Field
    • Specifically formatted for phone numbers.
  6. Email Field
    • Used for storing email addresses. 
    • While you can use this field, we recommend using the Username field for login credentials. This field also allows you to open your email client directly.
  7. Number Field
    • Allows only numerical values.
  8. Username field
    • Used for usernames or email addresses associated with online accounts. 
  9. Password Field
    • Accepts all characters.
    • Field is masked by default for security.
  10. Sensitive Number field
    • Stores numerical values with masking for added security. 
  11. Date Field
    • Provides a date picker.
    • Dates are displayed in mm/dd/yy (US) or dd/mm/yy (international). 
    • On Android, only the US format is available.
  12. Month/Year Field
    • Used for expiration dates.
    • Displays in mm/yyyy format
  13. Credit Card Field
    • Stores credit card numbers securely.
    • The field is masked by default.
  14. One-Time Password Field
    • Used for sites requiring a one-time password.
    • You can scan an image of the code if applicable.
