Security Center Features
Weak Passwords
mSecure evaluates password strength using the open-source zxcvbn method, comparing passwords against a database of over 30,000 common passwords, words, names, keyboard patters, and dates.
Passwords are categorized as:
- Satisfactory - Suggested to update.
- Very Weak - Immediate update recommended.
- Weak - Strongly recommend to update.
Note: For Login records, clicking Change Password redirects you to the corresponding website to update your password. Once changed, it will be updated in mSecure.
Tip: Use mSecure's Password Generator to create strong, unique passwords.
Duplicate Passwords
Reusing passwords or making slight variations increases security risks. The Duplicate Passwords section groups accounts with shared passwords, making it easy to identify and update them.
Note: Clicking Change Password redirects you to update it on the respective website.
Tip: Always use a unique password for each account with mSecure's Password Generator.
Old Passwords
Passwords older than 3, 6, or 9 months are categorized as Old Passwords. While frequent password changes aren't always necessary, updating old passwords can enhance security.
Note: Clicking Change Password redirects you to update it on the respective website.
Tip: As long as you use a strong, unique password generate by mSecure, updating passwords regularly is beneficial.
Ignored Records
To exclude a password from Weak, Duplicate, or Old Passwords, click Ignore next to the record. This removes it from calculations but allows you to restore it later by selecting Reconsider. You may choose to ignore passwords for shared accounts or accounts with passwords you cannot change.
