Restore Data from mSecure 4 (Forgot Password - Has Biometric Access)
This guide is for users who:
- Can still unlock mSecure 4 with Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint, but
- Do not remember their mSecure 4 password
What this process does
Because you don't know your mSecure 4 password, you cannot restore your data on your own inside the app.
You will need assistance from mSecure Support, who can help you securely recover and migrate your data into mSecure 6.
Important: ⚠️ DO NOT delete mSecure 4 until your data has been recovered or support confirms it is safe to do so.
Before You Begin - please confirm:
- mSecure 4 is still installed
- You previously unlocked mSecure 4 using Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint
- You have access to the email address linked to your mSecure 6 account (if you already have created one)
Steps to Recover Your Data
- Contact mSecure Support for assistance:
Email: support@msevensoftware.com - Use the following subject line in your email to help route your request quickly:
"mSecure 4 Biometric Unlock" - Provide the following details in your email (if known):
- Device type
- Device version
- Approximate version of mSecure 4 you were using
- Whether you already have an mSecure 6 account. - Support will guide you through a secure process to access and migrate your data into mSecure 6
After Recovery
Once your data has been successfully restore to mSecure 6, you may safely uninstall mSecure 4 if you wish.
