Restore Data from mSecure 4 to mSecure 6 (Password Known) - Existing mSecure 6 Account
This guide is for users who:
- Still have mSecure 4 installed, and
- Know their mSecure 4 password, and
- Already created an mSecure 6 account
What this process does
You will move your old, local data from mSecure 4 into your new mSecure 6 account so all your passwords appear in the newer app.
⚠️ DO NOT delete mSecure 4 until you see your data successfully appear in mSecure 6.
Before you being - please confirm
- mSecure 4 is still installed on your iPhone or iPad
- You can open mSecure 4 using your password
- You know the email and password for your mSecure 6 account
Steps to Restore Your Data
- Open mSecure 6 on your device
- Sign in to your mSecure 6 account
- Tap the three lines (☰) in the top left corner
- Tap Settings
- Scroll to Sync and Backup Settings
- Tap Restore from mSecure 4
- Enter in your mSecure 4 password
Then choose one of these options:
- If you already have records in mSecure 6 and want to keep them:
-> Tap Merge
Your old mSecure 4 data will be combined with what you already have in mSecure 6. - If your mSecure 6 account has records you no longer need:
-> Tap Restore
This will replace anything currently in mSecure 6 with your old mSecure 4 data.
After Restore
Open your records in mSecure 6 and confirm everything looks correct.
Once you can clearly see your data in mSecure 6, you may safely uninstall mSecure 4.
