Upgrading to a Family Plan

Looking to upgrade to a Family Plan from your current subscription? mSecure Family Plans are a great option for users looking to have multiple mSecure users under one subscription plan. Family Plans allow for you and 4 others to be in one subscription plan. If you are looking for a plan for your business of 10 or more, you can learn more here.



Benefits of mSecure Family

mSecure Family Plans include 5 Premium licenses in the plan, for the price of just 2! You and 4 of your friends, family, neighbors, dog sitters - or whoever you see fit - can be added to one subscription plan.


Each of you will have your own mSecure account and can choose to maintain a separate database. You can also utilize the Sharing Center to create shared vaults and share select information with your family members, or any other mSecure Premium account!


 One administrator will control the plan. this administrator will be able to add and remove users from the Family Plan if needed through the "Family Licenses" tab in their mSecure Settings (which becomes visible when you purchase the Family Plan). 





Upgrading your mSecure account to Family


Where did you purchase your current mSecure plan?

You can find out where you purchased your plan by logging into our website - mSecure.com/login -using your mSecure account username (email address) and password used to log into the application. 



If you have a plan from our site, or Paddle.com (our authorized reseller)

If you currently have an mSecure Essentials or Premium plan, you can upgrade through our site - mSecure.com/plans

If you have a plan that you purchased through Apple

Since the release of mSecure 6.1.2, you are now able to upgrade through your subscription settings on the device you purchased your mSecure plan. In order to upgrade from Premium or Essentials to Family:


On Mac

- Go to your System Settings > Apple ID (Name) > Media & Purchases > (Manage) Subscriptions

- Click your mSecure plan and then select your Family Plan (monthly or yearly)

- Complete the purchasing process, then return to mSecure


On iOS Devices

- Go to your device's Settings > Apple ID (Name) > Subscriptions 

- Tap your mSecure Plan and select the Family Plan of choice (monthly or yearly)

- Complete the purchasing process, then return to mSecure


To confirm its switch, you can open mSecure and go to your Account Settings and your plan should be changed to Family. 


Note: The administrator (the user upgrading) will see their account type as "Family". All users in the Family plan will see "Premium" as their account type.



If you have a plan that you purchased through Google Play

In order to upgrade from Premium or Essentials to Family:


- Open mSecure on your device

- Go to the left-side Menu (three horizontal lines) > Settings > Account Settings

- Tap "Upgrade Now" and select "Family"

- Complete the purchasing process, then return to mSecure


To confirm its switch, you can open mSecure and go to your Account Settings and your plan should be changed to Family.

If you have a plan that you purchased through Microsoft

First, cancel your Micorosft subscription through the Microsoft Store on your Windows device. You can https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/cancel-your-microsoft-subscription-c2c6b0e3-cab3-cb98-d83e-c9ad54620530


Second, contact us at support@msevensoftware.com, and we are happy to upgrade you to Family. Be sure to let us know your Microsoft Subscription details (The renewal date and what plan you purchased) so we can upgrade you through our site as a new subscription going forward. Family plan upgrades are currently not available in Microsoft Subscriptions.



Are you a V5 Pro user looking to upgrade to a Family Plan?

If you currently have a V5 Pro license (Essentials plan) in mSecure, then you can upgrade to Family through our website - mSecure.com/plans - and enter your mSecure account email address. 


Note: Your Essentials plan will always be available to you should you choose to revert to Essentials.
