WiFi syncing issues - Windows Specific

Unfortunately, 90% of the time for Windows mSecure 5 users using WiFi syncing and experiencing issues, the issue is that they have not set their network connection to be a private network profile. Please ensure that you have your network set to private and see if that fixes your issues here:


If using a wired connection on your computer

  1. Click the notifications icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar
  2. Click “All Settings”
  3. Click “Network & Internet”
  4. Click “Ethernet”
  5. Click “Network” or the network that matches the network you’re using as the Main Computer in mSecure 5
  6. Enable the “Make this PC discoverable”

If using a wireless connection on your computer

  1. Click the Internet Access icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar
  2. Click “Properties” for the network you’re connected to
  3. Under “Network profile, switch your network profile to “Private”
    • Do not switch your computer’s network to private if using a public WiFi connection. Also, you shouldn’t be trying to sync via WiFi using a public WiFi connection
