mSecure 6 update on PC changed modified dates - Sync then overwrote newer records on phone

mSecure 6 overwrote newer records on sync and lost data.

  1. PHONE: Updated 5 to 6.  Works fine.
  2. PHONE: Record1 updated with new password
  3. PC: Auto updated 5 to 6
  4. PC: Opened mSecure and the software did something to most of the records, changing the modified date to the current date/time.
  5. PC/Phone: Did a WiFi sync
  6. Phone now has OLD Record1 from PC and the new password is lost
  7. NEW records synced fine.

Assume that this is because the PC update changed the modified date on most records and now thought it was newer when it is not.  About 20 of my records lost data, the rest probably synced, but had not changed, so no data lost.

Restored mSeucre data on phone from backup.  emailed backup to PC.  Restored PC from backup.  All working as it should now.

For future upgrades, modifications to the record layout should not change the modified date of the record, if that is being used to determine sync direction!

You nailed exactly what happened, as the Windows version that is currently in the available in the Microsoft Store is updating the modification date after the upgrade. This behavior will be fixed in the nest release we plan to submit as soon as possible.
