Opening backup file

I am on the old mSecure and forget the password, but still have some backups. Is there any chance to open them without password (that is the reason I would like to open it)?

Hi Boba,

I believe I'm in communication with you via email, but we can talk here in the forum as well. The data stored in the backup files created by mSecure are encrypted using what is called an "account key", which is just a really long, random and very strong string to provide maximum security for your information. That key is encrypted with your password, so without the password that was being used by mSecure when the backup was created, there is no way to decrypt the data stored in the file. In short, you must know your password in order to restore data from an mSecure backup file.
