Hi Christopher,
Thank you for contacting us. At this time, the 2FA feature only requires authentication when you sign in to your account after installing the app on a new device or reinstalling the app for some reason. You don't ever get asked to authenticate via 2FA when unlocking the app.
In the future, this may change, but you will always have the option of whether or not you need to use 2FA to unlock the app.
Hi
What is the point of two factor authentication if it does not ask for 2FA when opening the application?
@Ken The current iteration of the Two-Factor Authentication feature is only an added layer of protection for when you sign in to mSecure either when you get a new device or if you have to reinstall app for some reason. Once you have signed in to the app, biometric authentication takes over for 2FA if the device supports it.
In a future release, we already have plans to enhance the 2FA feature. You will have the option to require authentication every time the app is opened, and we also hope to implement 2FA via push notifications for iOS, Mac and Android. It's possible we'll be able to do push notifications on Windows as well, but we're not sure about that yet. At any rate, 2FA will be enhanced in the future.
Christopher
I use face recognition to log into my msecure on my phone. If I setup two factor authentication will I need to use it every time I log in to look up a record or will it remember I have logged in on that device and allow only me to use only Face ID the second and subsequent times.
Thanks.
Chris
