Soporte mSecure

mSecure desktop on Linux Mint

Hi all,

I'm a long-time Windows user and long-time mSecure user, and I continue to be very happy with both. I volunteer at our local Repair Café, and we have fixed many broken items brought in by the public.

With the confusion about the ongoing support of Windows 10 and many systems not being upgradeable to Windows 11, I’ve seen a slide towards Linux. The folks with the Windows 10 laptops are mainly older people; they do not want to learn to navigate a new desktop, and they do not have the cash to buy a new laptop. But I still keep banging on about password managers.

There is a new initiative by the International Repair Café for Linux Repair Cafés, and they have developed a custom distro of Mint specifically for these users. It’s a simple desktop that is not too dissimilar to Windows 10; it’s bundled with the basic apps that they need, but they still need a password manager.

This is a worldwide Repair Café thrust to help people with their older laptops, and I do hope that a Mint desktop variant can be created and supported. I suspect that there will be a substantial market.

Hopefully,

Robert
