Same here. As said, I really think it is (or at least should be) theft of msecure cloud data. Most probably user data, not their vaults. Especially not vaults that were never synced with the msecure cloud. And if they would have stolen ‘only’ vaults, these are also useless. Unless your master password was ‘password’ or so. But hey, then you begged for troubles. The only things we know for (relatively) sure now are:
- It affects only msecure cloud users (unless someone here or anywhere can prove otherwise with hard facts)
- there is no evidence at all that encrypted data was compromised.
That aligns with the fact that none of us is (yet…) bombarded with security warnings from all kinds of sites, services, banks etc. But it also makes the behavior of mseven more doubtful by the minute. WHAT is the reason they can’t say more? If that is for research and/or legal reasons they should simply say so. That will lead to some kind of understanding. If their office is sealed of by police or whatever: it would give us some understanding for the situation they AND us are in. Silence killed the company though. And that is sad. It was a good, user friendly app. And no one creates a scenario like this intentionally. Both company and users are in the same boat right now. Some understanding from BOTH sides would also be nice then.
I ended up using Claude Code to create a Python program to migrate the mSecure 7 CSV file to Proton Pass. After a couple of false starts (Notes in mSecure have newlines saved as \\n or \\r\\n), I was able to migrate all of my data over. Now it's time to update those passwords that I haven't done yet...

Does anyone know whether all records in mSecure - the basic, not the premium or paid vesion - may be exported to a .csv file or directly to another app? I need to get the h*ll out of Dodge. No faith in mSecure any longer.
