One thing I saw in some other tool: when displaying a password, use different colours for alphabetic characters (e.g. black), digits (e.g. dark brown) and symbols (e.g. dark green). That way, one cannot mistake 0 for O, 1 for I or l, S for $, etc.

this is a good idea but i hope you take in to consideration the best color combinations to use and not to use for color blind people.
